Stocks Opened Higher, Crude Oil Prices Rose

U.S. stocks opened sharply higher on Monday after the main U.S. benchmarks registered their worst Thanksgiving week since 2011. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 351.05 points, or 1.45%, to 24,637.00. The S&P 500 advanced 33.66 points, or 1.28%, to 2,666.22. the Nasdaq Composite climbed 103.42 points, or 1.49%, to 7,042.40.
U.S. oil prices were clawing back gains Monday, as investors grappled with supply issues ahead of an OPEC meeting. January West Texas Intermediate crude rose 60 cents, or 1.2%, to $51.02 a barrel. January Brent was up $1.18, or 2%, to $59.98 a barrel.
Cyber Monday is expected to be a record-breaker, with forecasts calling for $7.8 billion in sales, or a 17.6% increase over last year’s shopping holiday, according to Adobe Analytics.
