Stocks Ended Lower, Oil Prices Declined

U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday, after new jobs data sharply missed estimates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average retreated 119.68 points, or 0.38%, to 31,493.34. The S&P 500 slipped 17.36 points, or 0.44%, to 3,913.97. The Nasdaq Composite fell 100.14 points, or 0.72%, to 13,865.36.

Oil futures ended lower on Thursday, pressured by speculation that major oil producers may discuss an increase in production when they meet early next month. West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery fell 62 cents, or 1%, to settle at $60.52 a barrel. April Brent crude lost 41 cents, or 0.6%, at $63.93 a barrel.
