Stocks Opened Mixed, Oil Futures Traded Higher

U.S. stocks opened mixed on Tuesday, with the tech shares recovering after Monday’s losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately fell 25.33 points, or 0.08%, to 30,983.36. The S&P 500 edged down 1.04 points, or 0.03%, to 3,798.57. The Nasdaq Composite gained 32.76 points, or 0.25%, to 13,069.19.

Oil futures traded higher Tuesday, with Brent crude resuming a push to the upside as a bounce by the U.S. dollar appeared to lose steam. West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery rose 81 cents, or 1.6%, to $53.06 a barrel. March Brent crude was up 84 cents, or 1.5%, at $56.50 a barrel.
