Stocks Rose, Heading for Another Round of Records

U.S. stocks were higher on Wednesday, as benchmarks took a run at another round of records in one of the final sessions of 2020. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 124.85 points, or 0.41%, to 30,460.52. The S&P 500 was up 10.65 points, or 0.29%, to 3,737.69. The Nasdaq Composite gained 51.14 points, or 0.40%, to 12,901.37.

Oil futures traded near unchanged Wednesday, moving between gains and losses after finding some temporary support in the wake of data showing a larger-than-expected drop in U.S. crude inventories. West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery was up 4 cents, or 0.1%, at $48.04 a barrel. February Brent crude was up 10 cents, or 0.2%, at $51.19 a barrel.
