Stocks Open Mixed as Investors Eyed Stimulus Talks

U.S stocks were little changed at open on Friday, with investors focused on talks in Washington over another round of economic relief. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 3.23 points, or 0.01%, to 30,300.14. The S&P 500 ticked up 3.88 point, or 0.10%, to 3,718.60. The Nasdaq Composite rose 10.30 points, or 0.08%, to 12,775.04.

Oil futures were little changed Friday, but remained on track for a seventh straight weekly rise as traders remained optimistic about vaccine rollouts and prospects for U.S. lawmakers to reach a deal on an economic relief package. West Texas Intermediate crude for January delivery was unchanged at $48.36 a barrel. February Brent crude fell 10 cents, or 0.2%, to $51.40 a barrel.
