Stocks Ended on a High Note, Nasdaq and S&P 500 Hit New Record Highs

U.S. stocks ended Friday on a high note, with both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite hitting record highs, as hopes for a COVID-19 vaccine momentarily counterbalance soaring infection rates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 37.90 points, or 0.13%, to 29,910.37. The S&P 500 was up 8.70 points, or 0.24%, to 3,638.35. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 111.44 points, or 0.92%, to 12,205.85. For the week, the Dow rose 2.2%, the S&P 500 gained 2.3% and the Nasdaq Composite logged a 3% rise.
