Stocks Ended Higher as Investors Awaited Election Results

U.S. stocks ended higher on Wednesday, with tech stocks leading market rally, as investors awaited election results. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 367.63 points, or 1.34%, to 27,847.66. The S&P 500 added 74.28 points, or 2.20%, to 3,443.44. The Nasdaq Composite soared 430.21 points, or 3.85%, to 11,590.78.

Oil futures tallied a third straight climb Wednesday, brushing off an uncertain outcome in the U.S. presidential election, as investors focused on a hefty weekly decline in U.S. crude supplies. West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery rose $1.49, or 4%, to settle at $39.15 a barrel. January Brent crude added $1.52, or 3.8%, at $41.23 a barrel.
