Stocks Ended Sharply Lower as Tech Shares Fell Anew

U.S. stocks ended sharply lower on Wednesday, with the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq each had their worst day in two weeks, as tech shares renewed declines. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 525.05 points, or 1.92%, to 26,763.13. The S&P 500 declined 78.65 points, or 2.37%, to 3,236.92. The Nasdaq Composite fell 330.65 points, or 3.02%, to 10,632.99.

Oil futures gained on Wednesday as U.S. crude supplies declined for a second week in a row. West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery rose 13 cents, or 0.3%, to settle at $39.93 a barrel. November Brent crude climbed 5 cents, or 0.1%, to $41.77 a barrel.
