Stocks Ended Lower with Selling Pressure on Tech

U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday , with tech selling dragging Nasdaq down in worst day in 5 sessions and Dow snapping 4-day winning streak. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 130.40 points, or 0.47%, to 27,901.98. The S&P 500 declined 28.48 points, or 0.84%, to 3,357.01. The Nasdaq Composite fell 140.19 points, or 1.27%, to 10,910.28.

Oil futures finished higher on Thursday as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies stressed the importance of full compliance with output cuts during their monthly meeting. West Texas Intermediate crude for October delivery climbed by 81 cents, or 2%, to settle at $40.97 a barrel. November Brent crude added $1.08, or 2.6%, to end at $43.30 a barrel.
