Stocks Ended Higher as Tech Rallied

U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday, powered by a rally in technology and e-commerce shares ahead of earnings from big companies, including Facebook (FB), Apple (AAPL) and Amazon.com (AMZN) in the coming week.. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 114.88 points, or 0.43%, to 26,584.77. The S&P 500 was up 23.78 points, or 0.74%, to 3,239.41. The Nasdaq Composite gained 173.09 points, or 1.67%, to 10,536.27.

Oil futures gave up early losses Monday to finish higher, buoyed by a drop in the U.S. dollar index to its lowest in two years. West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery tacked on 31 cents, or nearly 0.8%, to settle at $41.60 a barrel. September Brent crude also edged up by 7 cents, or 0.2%, to $43.41 a barrel.
