Stocks Opened Higher, Dow Rallied over 700 Points

U.S stocks Opened higher on Tuesday, extending gains to a second session on growing signs that the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic may be leveling off in parts of the world. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 743.44 points, or 3.28%, to 23,423.43. the S&P 500 gained 76.01 points, or 2.85%, to 2,739.69. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 172.24 points, or 2.18%, to 8,085.48.

Oil futures rose Tuesday, finding support as hopes build for an agreement on a production cut when major oil producers hold a virtual meeting later this week. West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery trimmed earlier gains but remained up 17 cents, or 0.7%, at $26.25 a barrel. June Brent crude rose 59 cents, or 1.9%, to $33.26 a barrel.
