Stocks Gained in Early Trading after Last week’s Sell-off

U.S. stocks gained in early trading on Monday as markets struggled to come to grips with the coronavirus turmoil that blasted equities worldwide last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 219.70 points, or 0.86%, to 25,629.06. The S&P 500 added 21.90 points, or 0.74%, to 2,976.12. The global benchmark, Brent crude futures BRN00, +1.95%, were 68 cents higher, up 14%, at $50.35 a barrel.
