Stocks Ended Higher after Worst Day since October

U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday, after the worst daily decline for stocks in months. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 187.05 points, or 0.66%, to 28,722.85. The S&P 500 rose 32.61 points, or 1.01%, to 3,276.24. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 130.37 points, or 1.43%, to 9,269.68.

Oil futures ended higher on Tuesday, finding support as OPEC is reportedly considering an extension to its cuts in crude production. West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery rose 34 cents, or 0.6%, to settle at $53.48 a barrel, while March Brent crude added 19 cents, or 0.3%, to $59.51 a barrel.
