Stocks Edged Higher in Early Trading

U.S. stocks edged higher in the early trading on Wednesday, shrugging off earlier fears after Iran launched more than a dozen missiles to strike U.S.-Iraqi airbases. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 28.20 points, or 0.10%, to 28,611.88. The S&P 500 gained 10.45 points, or 0.32%, to 3,247.63. The Nasdaq Composite was up 34.35 points, or 0.38%, to 9,102.93.

Oil futures traded sharply lower Wednesday, reversing a spike higher. West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery fell $1.08, or 1.7%, to $61.62 a barrel, while March Brent crude dropped 75 cents, or 1.1%, to 67.52 a barrel.
