Stocks Opened at Record Highs

U.S. stocks opened at record highs again on Friday, as investors were digesting an update on third-quarter U.S. GDP growth. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 98.99 points, or 0.35%, to 28,475.95, The S&P 500 added 13.15 points, or 0.41%, to 3,218.52. The Nasdaq Composite gained 21.01 points, or 0.24%, to 8,908.23.

Oil futures were slightly lower early Friday. West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery fell 22 cents, or 0.4%, to trade at $60.95 a barrel. February Brent crude shed 20 cents, or 0.3%, at $66.34 a barrel.

U.S. economic growth nudged up in the third quarter, the government confirmed on Friday. Gross domestic product increased at a 2.1% annualized rate.

The House of Representatives on Thursday approved the U.S.-Canada-Mexico trade agreement after months of negotiating changes.
