Stocks Ended Mixed, Nasdaq Logged Fifth Straight Record High

U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday as only the Nasdaq Composite was able to extend its winning streak. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 27.88 points, or 0.10%, to 28,239.28. The S&P 500 shed 1.38 points, or 0.04%, to 3,191.14. The Nasdaq Composite was up 4.38 points, or 0.05%, to 8.827.73.

Micron Technology Inc (MU) beat analysts’ estimates for quarterly revenue and profit on Wednesday. On an adjusted basis, the company earned 48 cents per share compared with analysts’ estimates of 47 cents per share. Net income attributable to the company fell to $491 million, or 43 cents per share, in the first quarter ended Nov. 28, from $3.29 billion, or $2.81 per share, a year earlier. Revenue also fell to $5.14 billion from $7.91 billion, but beat estimates of $5.01 billion.
