Stocks Post Record Closing Highs

U.S. stocks ended slightly higher on Monday, posting fresh closing highs, as investors considered mixed signals over progress in a U.S.-China interim trade agreement. The Dow Jones Industrial Average picked up 31.33 points, or 0.11%, to 28,036.22. The S&P 500 was up 1.57 points, or 0.05%, to 3,122.03. The Nasdaq Composite rose 9.11 points, or 0.11%, to 8,549.94.

Oil futures settled lower on Monday, after posting back-to-back weekly gains.West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery fell 67 cents, or 1.2%, to settle at $57.05 a barrel, while January Brent crude lost 86 cents, or 1.4%, at $62.44 a barrel.
