Stocks Fell amid China Trade Deal Skepticism

U.S. stocks fell in the early trading on Thursday, following reports that Chinese officials doubted whether a trade deal would get done. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately fell 84.80 points, or 0.31%, to 27,101.89. The S&P 500 was down 7.72 points, or 0.25%, to 3,039.05. The Nasdaq Composite declined 11.00 points, or 0.13%, to 8,292.97.

Chinese officials have reportedly suggested that they will not be willing to make concessions on some of the major economic reforms the Trump administration has called for to reach an eventual long-term trade deal, according to a Bloomberg report Thursday.
