Stocks Ended Mixed ahead of U.S – China Meeting

U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday, as investors await the outcome of an upcoming meeting on trade policy between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping at Friday’s G-20 meeting. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 10.24 points, or 0.04%, to 26,526.58. The S&P 500 rose 11.14 points, or 0.38%, to 2,924.92. The Nasdaq composite gained 57.79 points, or 0.73%, to 7,967.76.

Oil prices ended modestly higher on Thursday to notch a new multiweek high. August West Texas Intermediate crude added 5 cents, or nearly 0.1%, to settle at $59.43 a barrel. August Brent crude tacked on 6 cents, or about 0.1%, to end at a roughly one-month high of $66.55 a barrel.
