Stocks Ended Higher, Energy Sector Rallied

U.S. stocks closed higher on Thursday as energy sector rallied on oil-price spike. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 101.94 points, or 0.39%, to 26,106.77. The S&P 500 added 11.80 points, or 0.41%, to 2,891.64. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 44.41 points, or 0.57%, to 7,837.13.

Oil futures rallied Thursday, as an attack on two oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz raised fears of a potential disruption to the global flow of oil. West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery rose $1.14, or 2.2%, to end at $52.28 a barrel. August Brent crude climbed $1.34, or 2.2%, to $61.3 a barrel.
