Stocks Ended Mixed, Oil Surged

U.S. stocks ended mixed on Monday, as the energy sector rallied on the back of a surge in oil prices, but the Dow finished down, weighed by shares of Boeing Co. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 48.49 points, or 0.18%, to 26,511.05. The S&P 500 added 2.94 points, or 0.10%, to 2,907.97. The Nasdaq Composite gained 17.21 points, or 0.22%, to 8,015.27.

Oil prices surged on Monday to mark their highest finish since late October, as the U.S. declared it would end waivers for countries to import Iranian oil. West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery surged $1.70, or 2.7%, to settle at $65.70 a barrel. June Brent crude rallied $2.07, or 2.9%, to $74.04 a barrel.
