Stocks Ended Mixed, Dow Dragged by Walgreens

U.S. stocks ended mostly higher on Tuesday, but the Dow industrials were weighed by shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance dropped following a weaker-than-expected earnings report. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 79.29 points, or 0.30%, to 26,179.13. The S&P 500 edged up 0.05 point, to 2,865.25. The Nasdaq Composite gained 19.78 points, or 0.25%, to 7,848.69.

Oil futures ended higher on Tuesday, as bulls continued to find encouragement in signs of tightening supplies and fading worries over global economic growth. West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery rose 99 cents, or 1.6%, to close at $62.58 a barrel. June Brent crude settled 36 cents higher, up 0.5%, at $69.37 a barrel.
