Stocks Edged Lower in Early Trading

U.S. stocks edged lower in early trading on Wednesday, following President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. The Dow Industrial Average lately decined 74.19 points, or 0.29%, to 25337.33. The S&P 500 was down 11.04 points, or 0.40%, to 2726.66. The Nasdaq Composite fell 44.40 points, or 0.60%, to 7357.69.

Trump’s second State of the Union address Tuesday night provided few surprises for investors and primarily provided a platform for the president to restate his stances on U.S.-China trade, immigration policy and infrastructure.
