Stocks Ended Higher, Oil Prices Rose

U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday thanks to a rally in tech equities and reports of further stimulus measures from China. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 155.75 points, or 0.65%, to 24,065.59. The S&P 500 advanced 27.69 points, or 1.07%, to 2,610.30. The Nasdaq Composite gained 117.92 points, or 1.71%, to 7,023.83.

Oil futures settled higher Tuesday, recouping some of the losses suffered over back-to-back sessions as China took steps to boost its economy a day after another round of downbeat data. West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery rose $1.60, or 3.2%, to settle at $52.11 a barrel. March Brent crude rose $1.65, or 2.8%, to $60.64 a barrel.
