Stocks Ended Solid Gains amid Trade Talks

U.S. stocks ended solid gains on Friday as investors await a meeting between President Donald Trump and China’s President Xi Jinping. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 199.62 points, or 0.79%, to 25,538.46. The S&P 500 advanced 22.40 points, or 0.82%, to 2,760.16. The Nasdaq Composite gained +57.45 points, or 0.79%, to 7,330.54.

Crude oil posted its biggest monthly loss since October 2008 on Friday, with prices slumping more than 20% in November. West Texas Intermediate crude for January delivery fell 52 cents, or 1%, to settle at $50.93 a barrel. January Brent crude lost 80 cents, or 1.3%, to $58.71 a barrel.
