Stocks Begin Thanksgiving Week in the Red

U.S. stocks opened the shortened Thanksgiving week lower on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately fell 117.27 points, or 0.46%, to 25,295.95. The S&P 500 was down 12.31 points, or 0.45%, to 2,723.96. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 83.29 points, or 1.15%, to 7,164.58.

Over the weekend, Vice President Mike Pence gave a speech at the APEC summit in Papua New Guinea indicating that the U.S. would not back down with tariffs on China until it concedes to the U.S.’s trade demands.
