Stocks Ended Mixed, Oil Barely Higher

U.S. stocks ended mixed on Monday, as a touch of earnings-season anxiety dogged investors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 126.93 points, or 0.50%, to 25,317.41. The S&P 500 was down 11.90 points, or 0.43% to 2,755.88. The Nasdaq Composite gained 19.60 points, or 0.26%, to 7,468.63.

Oil futures ended barely higher Monday as the November U.S. benchmark futures contract expired and traders took stock of U.S.-Saudi tensions over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery rose 5 cents, or less than 0.1%, to finish at $69.17 a barrel. December Brent crude edged up by a nickel, or less than 0.1%, to $79.83 a barrel.
