Stocks Ended Lower on Tariff Worries

U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday as U.S. President Donald Trump raised the possibility of additional tariffs on imports of Chinese goods.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 79.33 points, or 0.31%, to 25,916.54. The S&P 500 lost 6.37 points, or 0.22%, to 2,871.68. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 20.18 points, or 0.25%, to 7,902.54. For the week, the Dow fell 0.2%, the S&P 500 delined 1% and the Nasdaq dropped 2.55%.

U.S. benchmark oil futures saw a modest decline on Friday, booking a loss of nearly 3% for the week. October West Texas Intermediate crude fell 2 cents to settle at $67.75 a barrel and marked a 2.9% weekly loss. November Brent tacked on 33 cents, or 0.4%, to settle $76.83 a barrel.

President Donald Trump said he’s ready to impose tariffs on an additional $267 billion in Chinese goods on short notice, on top of a proposed $200 billion that his administration is putting the final touches on.
