Stocks Opened Slightly Lower as Trade Concerns Weighed

U.S. stocks opened slightly lower on Monday as investors focused on fresh developments in clashes over tariffs between the U.S. and its global counterparts. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 25.15 points, or 0.10%, to 25,437.43. The S&P 500 was down 0.06 points, or %, to 2,840.29. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.48 points, or 0.03%, to 7,809.54.

Oil prices ticked up Monday morning on the back of reports that Saudi Arabian crude output unexpectedly fell in July. West Texas Intermediate futures were trading up $1.40, or 0.9%, at $69.45 a barrel. Brent crude was up $1.08, or 0.8%, to $74.02 a barrel.

Google is in talks with Tencent Holdings Ltd., Inspur Group and other Chinese companies to offer its cloud services in the world’s second-largest economy.
