Stocks Ended Mostly Lower; Nasdaq Extended Winning Streak

U.S. stocks ended mostly lower on Thursday, with Nasdaq Composite extending its winning streak to eight straight session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 74.52 points, or 0.29%, to 25,509.23. The S&P 500 lost 4.12 points, or 0.14%, to 2,853.58. The Nasdaq Composite added 3.46 points, or 0.04%, to 7,891.78.

Crude-oil prices finished slightly lower Thursday, amid tempered expectations of lost Iranian supply even and fears that China may be signaling waning demand for oil. West Texas Intermediate futures for September delivery lost 13 cents, or 0.2%, to settle at $66.81 a barrel. Brent crude for October shed 21 cents, or 0.3%, to $72.07 a barrel.
