Stocks Ended Higher, S&P Touched Record High

U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 touched a record high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 63.60 points, or 0.25%, to 25,822.29. The S&P 500 gained 5.91 points, or 0.21%, to 2,862.96. The Nasdaq Composite added 38.17 points, or 0.49%, to 7,859.17.

Oil futures finished higher on Tuesday, as investors watched U.S. sanctions against Iran for the potential to disrupt global supplies. West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery climbed 92 cents, or 1.4%, to settle at $67.35 a barrel. October Brent crude climbed 42 cents, or 0.6%, to $72.63 a barrel.
