Stocks Ended Lower, Dragged by Tech

U.S. stocks ended lower on Monday, with the Nasdaq Composite posting its third consecutive loss, as tech shares continued to decline. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 144.23 points, or 0.57%, to 25,306.83. the S&P 500 lost 16.22 points, or 0.58%, to 2,802.60. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 107.42 points, or 1.39%, to 7,630.00.

Oil futures ended higher Monday, with the U.S. benchmark pushing back above $70 a barrel for the first time in nearly three weeks on global supply concerns and strong underlying demand. West Texas Intermediate crude-oil futures for September rose $1.44, or 2.1%, to settle at $70.13 a barrel. Brent crude advanced 68 cents, or 0.9%, to $74.97 a barrel.
