Stocks Opened Little Changed

U.S. stocks opened little changed on Friday as losses in Symantec and Nvidia offset gains in healthcare and telecom sectors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately rose 78.77 points, or 0.32%, to 24,818.30. The S&P 500 added 3.17 points, or 0.12%, to 2,726.24. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 11.18 points, or 0.15%, to 7,393.79.

Oil prices were mainly flat Friday, hovering near the more-than-three-year highs reached. June West Texas Intermediate crude oil tacked on 18 cents, or 0.3%, to $71.55 a barrel. Brent crude was up 3 cents to $77.50 a barrel.

U.S. import prices rose less than expected in April as a rebound in the cost of petroleum products was tempered by a drop in food prices, the latest indication that inflation pressures were increasing moderately.The Labor Department said on Friday import prices rose 0.3 percent last month.
