Stocks Ended Higher on Easing Trade Worries

U.S. stocks ended higher on Thursday, as investors’ worries of an escalating trade conflict between the United States and China eased. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 240.92 points, or 0.99%, to 24,505.22. The S&P 500 gained 18.15 points, or 0.69%, to 2,662.84. The Nasdaq Composite added 34.44 points, or 0.49%, to 7,076.55.

Oil prices regained some lost ground Thursday as fears of a U.S.-China trade war appeared to ease somewhat. Brent crude ended 31 cents higher, a gain of 0.5%, at $68.33 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate futures rose 17 cents, or 0.3%, to end at $63.54 a barrel.
