Oil extended its losing streak to a fifth session on Thursday, a day after data showed record weekly U.S. crude output and a further rise in inventories. March West Texas Intermediate crude fell 34 cents, or 0.6%, to $61.45 a barrel. April Brent crude shed 70 cents, or 1.1%, to $64.81 a barrel.

U.S. retail sales are expected to rise between 3.8 percent and 4.4 percent in 2018, the National Retail Federation (NRF) said on Thursday, citing higher consumer confidence, low unemployment rates and rising wages.
