Stocks Ended Higher, Extending Gains to Fourth Day

U.S. stocks ended higher on Wednesday, extending gains to fourth day, as investors shrugged off stronger-than-expected inflation data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 253.04 points, or 1.03%, to 24,893.49. The S&P 500 gained 35.69 points, or 1.34 %, to 2,698.63. The Nasdaq Composite rallied 130.10 points, or 1.86%, to 7,143.62.

Oil futures rebounded from early losses Wednesday, ending sharply higher after government data showed crude inventories rose less than expected last week. West Texas Intermediate futures rose $1.41, or 2.4%, to end at $60.60 a barrel. Brent crude rose $1.64, or 2.6%, at $64.36 a barrel.
