Stocks Ended Lower as Industrial Shares Weighed

U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday as losses in industrial stocks and interest-rate sensitive sectors offset marginal gains in tech stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 97.84 points, or 0.37%, to 26,017.81. The S&P 500 lost 4.53 points, or 0.16%, to 2,798.03. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.23 points, or 0.03%, to 7,296.05.

Oil prices settled little changed Thursday, down a few cents, as weekly U.S. crude production remained close to a record, offsetting support from a ninth week in a row of declines in domestic supplies. February West Texas Intermediate oil edged down by 2 cents to settle at $63.95 a barrel. Brent crude for March gave up 7 cents, or 0.1%, to $69.31 a barrel.
