Stocks Ended Higher, as Tech, Health-care Rallied

U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday, booking a fourth straight weekly advance, as tech, health-care stocks rallied. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 223.92 points, or 0.85%, to 26,616.71. The S&P 500 gained 33.62 points, or 1.18%, to 2,872.87. The Nasdaq Composite added 94.61 points, or 1.28 percent, to 7,505.77. For the week, the Dow rose 2.08%, the S&P 500 gained 2.22% and the Nasdaq advanced 2.31%.
Oil climbed on Friday, as overall decline in the dollar helped prices tally a gain for the week, lifting the U.S. benchmark to another settlement at its highest in more than three years. March West Texas Intermediate crude gained 63 cents, or 1%, to settle at $66.14 a barrel. Brent for March tacked on 10 cents, or 0.1%, to $70.52 a barrel.
Package delivery company FedEx Corp said on Friday it will spend more than $3.2 billion on wage increases, bonuses, pension funding and capital investment, taking advantage of the U.S. tax overhaul signed into law in December.
