Stocks Slightly Higher, Earnings on Focus

U.S. stocks were traded slightly higher in the early trading on Tuesday, as investors put their focus on earnings. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lately advanced 7.92 points, or 0.03%, to 24,297.97. The S&P 500 was down 0.11 points, to 2,639.33. The Nasdaq Composite rose 24.67 points, or 0.36%, to 6,800.03.

Oil prices were holding steady on Tuesday, as a global crude glut remains an issue, especially amid signs of rising U.S. production. January West Texas Intermediate crude was off 4 cents to $57.44 a barrel, while Brent oil for February gave up 8 cents to $62.37 a barrel.

Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) has opened its second Roastery location in Shanghai, a 30,000-square-foot location that features the longest coffee bar of any Starbucks at 88 feet long, a 3D printed tea bar, and an augmented reality (AR) experience that can be accessed through customer mobile devices.

Revance Therapeutics Inc. (RVNC) reported positive results for its wrinkle-relaxing injection in two late-stage clinical trials. If approved, the product, DaxibotulinumtoxinA for Injection (RT002), would be the first of its kind to last six months.
