Stocks Ended Mixed, Tech Dragged S&P 500 and Nasdaq

U.S. stocks ended mixed on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average post a record close, while a slump for tech shares dragged the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 58.46 points, or 0.24%, to 24,290.05. The S&P 500 was down 2.78 points, or 0.11%, to 2,639.44. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 72.22 points, or 1.05%, to 6,775.37.

Oil prices settled lower Monday, as recent data showing U.S. drillers added more oil rigs last week fed concerns over growing domestic crude production. January West Texas Intermediate crude lost 89 cents, or 1.5%, to settle at $57.47 a barrel. Brent oil for February gave up $1.28, or 2%, to finish at $62.45 a barrel.
