Stocks Ended Higher as Tech Rally Powered Gains

U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday after stronger-than-expected earnings from the tech sector buoyed the Nasdaq and S&P 500 to all-time highs this week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 33.33 points, or 0.14%, to 23,434.19 and gained 0.5% for the week. The S&P 500 rose 20.67 points, or 0.81% to 2,581.07 points, pushing weekly gains to 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite jumped 144.49 points, or 2.20%, to 6,701.26 points, posting 1.1% gains for the week.

Oil prices rallied on Friday, sending the global crude benchmark above $60 a barrel for the first time in more than two years. December West Texas Intermediate crude tacked on $1.26, or 2.4%, to settle at $53.90 a barrel. For the week, it gained around 4%. December Brent rose $1.14, or 1.9%, to finish at $60.44 a barrel. The contract rose about 4.7% for the week.
