Stocks Ended Lower and Posted Weekly Loss

U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday and posted the second straight week with losses as the latest White House shake-up kept investors jittery about the outlook for the Trump agenda. The Nasdaq Composite fell 5.39 points, or 0.09%, to 6,216.53.

Oil prices shifted higher Friday, jumping about 3% in a surprise rally for the session on the back of unconfirmed reports of a unit shutdown at one of the largest oil refineries in the U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery jumped $1.42, or 3%, to settle at $48.51 a barrel. October Brent rallied $1.69, or 3.3%, to $52.72 a barrel.
