Nasdaq Extended Winning Streak as Tech Gained

U.S. stocks closed mostly higher on Tuesday, with the Nasdaq extending its winning streak, as tech stocks gained for a third day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.55 points, to 21,409.07. The S&P 500 declined 1.90 points, or 0.08%, to 2,425.53. The Nasdaq Composite rose 16.91 points, or 0.27%, to 6,193.30.

Oil climbed Tuesday, as a lower 2018 forecast on U.S. crude production and speculation of possible output curbs in Libya and Nigeria fueled the strongest session gain for prices in over a week. August West Texas Intermediate crude rose 64 cents, or 1.4%, to settle at $45.04 a barrel. September Brent crude added 64 cents, or 1.4%, to $47.52 a barrel.

Jorge Mas has agreed to buy the Miami Marlins baseball team from owner Jeffrey Loria for $1.17 billion, according to a report late Monday.
