Stocks Ended Mixed, Dow and S&P 500 Posted Weekly Loss

U.S. stocks ended mixed on Friday, with the Dow and S&P 500 both snapped a streak of three weeks of gains, while the Nasdaq finished higher for a fourth week of gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 22.81 points, or 0.11%, to 20,896.61, for a 0.5% drop on the week. The S&P 500 fell 3.54 points, or 0.15%, to 2,390.90, ended the week down 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite rose 5.27 points, or 0.09%, to 6,121.23, for a weekly gain of 0.3%.

Oil prices ended nearly flat on Friday, but notched the first weekly gain in a month on expectations the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will extend an agreement to curb production when the cartel meets later in the month. West Texas Intermediate June crude settled at $47.84 a barrel. It ended roughly 3.5% higher for the week. July Brent crude added 7 cents, or 0.1%, to $50.84 a barrel, for a weekly gain of about 3.6%.
