Stocks Ended Higher, Pared Weekly Losses

U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday, cutting into sharp losses for the week, as a rally in industrials and energy sectors supported a broad market gain. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 141.82 points, or 0.69%, to 20,804.84, fell 0.4% for the week. The S&P 500 gained 16.01 points, or 0.68%, to 2,381.73 , fell 0.4% for the week. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 28.57 points, or 0.47%, to 6,083.70, logging a weekly drop of 0.6%.

Oil futures settled Friday at their highest level in a month, scoring a more than 5% weekly gain as investors expressed optimism about possible price-supportive outcomes from a closely watched OPEC meeting next week. June West Texas Intermediate crude tacked on 98 cents, or 2%, to settle at $50.33 a barrel. July Brent crude gained $1.10, or 2.1%, to $53.61 a barrel.
