The company operates hydroelectric and thermal generation facilities. It has an installed generating capacity of 2,217 megawatts. The company owns and operates high voltage electricity transmission network of 12,279 kilometers of proprietary lines; and distributes electricity to approximately 2.8 million customers. It is also involved in the production and transportation of natural gas and gas fluids. The company was formerly known as Pampa Holding S.A. and changed its name to Pampa Energía S.A. in September 2008. Pampa Energía S.A. was founded in 1945 and is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
