Stocks Ended Higher; Dow at Record

U.S. stocks ended higher on Wednesday, with Dow closing at a record level for the 15th time this year, as better-than-expected corporate earnings and deal talk lifted broader markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
added 77.52 points, or 0.45%, to 17,138.20. The S&P 500 gained 8.29 points, or 0.42%, to 1,981.57. The Nasdaq
Composite gained 9.58 points, or 0.22%, to 4,425.97.

EBay Inc. (EBAY) on Wednesday reported a second-quarter profit of $676 million, or 53 cents a share, on revenue of $4.4 billion.

General Motors Co said on Wednesday its global sales topped 2.5 million vehicles in the recent quarter, up 0.5
percent as it posted its best showing since 2005 for a second quarter.

Google Inc. will report second-quarter results after the closing bell on Thursday, with Wall Street expecting solid gains in revenue and profit.
