Dow, S&P 500 Rise for 6th Consecutive Week

U.S. stocks stepped higher on Friday, with the S&P 500 and Dow both scoring a sixth straight up
week, as investors continued to find encouragement from Janet Yellen’s support for the Federal
Reserve’s stimulus efforts. The Dow advanced 85.48 points, or 0.54%, to close at 15,961.70. The
S&P 500 rose 7.56 points, or 0.42%, to finish at 1,798.18. The Nasdaq Composite tacked on 13.23
points, or 0.33%, to end at 3,985.97.

The Obama administration proposed today a reduction in the amount of renewable fuels that refiners
must blend with gasoline and diesel next year, bowing to oil industry complaints that the targets
contained in 2007 legislation were too high.

The Forbes family is exploring the sale of its namesake business magazine and other media
properties, Forbes Media LLC Chief Executive Mike Perlis told employees in an email Friday.

Shares of Zulily blasted off 92% in trading action Friday on investor enthusiasm for the e-
commerce site that offers goods for babies, kids and moms.
